HR Specialist
** Interim Fixed term to March 2028 *

Coleshill, Birmingham

Our Coleshill based client has been established for almost 40 years and are recognised market leaders in the design and development, manufacture and distribution of an impressive portfolio of electrical solutions for supply throughout the world, and are looking to recruit an experienced HR Specialist to provide maternity cover on a Fixed term contract until March 2028 and complement their professional Human Resources team.

Reporting to the HR & Business Change Manager, the HR Specialist will provide a comprehensive, commercially focused and professional HR service across the UK and Ireland, supporting the delivery of the people strategy through expert employee relations advice, organisational change initiatives, job evaluation activities and HR project delivery. The role will support all stages of the employee lifecycle and act as a trusted advisor to managers, ensuring people-related decisions support both operational effectiveness and organisational growth.

Core responsibilities will include:

Job Evaluation & Organisation Design - Leading job evaluation activities across the business, ensuring consistency, fairness and alignment with organisational requirements whilst supporting managers in the development and review of job descriptions, person specifications and organisational structures, conducting role benchmarking and providing recommendations regarding grading, responsibilities and role design.

Employee Relations & Case Management - Acting as the lead HR contact for complex employee relations matters across the UK and Ireland, independently managing any disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence management, redundancy and flexible working cases from start to finish and conducting and supporting complex investigations, producing detailed reports, recommendations and outcome documentation whilst providing commercially focused and legally compliant advice to managers on all aspects of employment law and people management.

Change Management & Organisational Development - Supporting and leading organisational change initiatives across the UK and Ireland and partnering with business leaders to successfully implement restructures, organisational design changes and workforce planning activities, and developing and delivering change management plans, communication strategies and stakeholder engagement activities.

Cross-Border HR Support - Providing guidance and support across both UK and Ireland operations whilst developing a strong understanding of relevant employment legislation and practices impacting both jurisdictions and ensuring consistency of HR practices whilst recognising local legislative requirements.

Recruitment & Talent Management - Supporting managers with recruitment and selection activities, ensuring best practice and a positive candidate experience, developing and reviewing job descriptions, person specifications and recruitment strategies and participating in interviews and assessment activities where required before supporting onboarding processes and ensuring effective integration of new employees into the business.

Policy Development & Employment Law and HR Projects & Continuous Improvement

The successful HR Specialist candidate will be a credible HR professional with significant experience of managing complex employee relations matters independently, influencing stakeholders at all levels and driving business change. Working with minimal supervision, they will provide pragmatic advice whilst balancing legal compliance, business objectives and employee engagement. Realistically qualified to CIPD Level 7 or working towards CIPD Level 7, you will demonstrate significant experience in a standalone HR Advisor, HR Specialist or Senior HR Advisor role with a strong understanding of UK employment law and employee relations best practice, gained within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
