Responsibilities
  • Review and validation of Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs).
  • Investigates surface incidents including runway incursions, vehicle/pedestrian deviations, pilot deviations, ATC loss of separation. As appropriate conducts interviews of pilots.
  • Completes required preliminary reporting forms, i.e., FAA Form 8020-17, for various incidents.
  • Creates replays and retrieves voice recordings to assist in investigation, research, and review of incidents.
  • As requested by the QA Manager prepares reports to support and communicate program status.
  • Communicates with FAA Facilities and other program offices. Purpose of communication is to provide assistance to field facilities concerning QA/QC and Runway Safety issues and share information with other program offices.
  • Contacts field facilities to request information that cannot be obtained through other methods.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, engineering, or science plus a minimum of 15 years ATC experience in a LVL 8 or higher FAA/military equivalent ATC facility.
  • Educational Requirement:
    In lieu of an applicable bachelor's degree eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted.
  • Candidate must be able to work out of the Eastern Service Area (College Park, GA office) on a full time basis.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a QA/QC specialist or manager in a field ATC facility, District, Service Center/Service Area office, or at FAA Headquarters.
