** Core Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
**** Clinical
Skills:
*** Provide comprehensive care throughout the ante-, intra-, and post-partum periods.
* Implement the Nursing Process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring individualized care.
* Utilize critical thinking to manage complex patient situations.
* Administer medications and perform pre-procedure preparations and safety checks.
* Maintain sterile technique and demonstrate IV administration competency.
* Engage with patients and families through effective communication and care planning.
** Quality and Patient Safety:
*** Verify patient identification using two identifiers.
* Ensure clarity in verbal orders and complete necessary procedural verifications.
* Adhere to health care policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
*
* Job Responsibilities:
*** Flexibility in hours to meet departmental needs.
* Complete ongoing competency assessments and required education.
* Foster teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team.
* Mentor and precept other nurses and students to build a skilled workforce.
* Maintain effective communication and provide patient transport and comfort.
* Stay current with BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
* Participate in training and staff meetings.
** Patient
Education:
*** Educate patients and families on care procedures and post-procedural instructions.
** Other Duties:
*** Perform additional tasks as assigned and comply with all Well Star Health System policies and standards of conduct.
*
* Required Minimum Education:
*** Diploma from an accredited nursing program or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
** Required Licenses and
Certifications:
*** RN (Single State or Multi-state Compact) required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
* Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
** Preferred Certification:
*** National certification in a specialty area.
*
* Required Experience:
*** Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience.
*
* Required Skills:
*** Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
* Basic computer skills and ability to leverage technology in clinical care.
* Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
* Ability to thrive in a challenging environment and respond to emergencies effectively.
* Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
