OverviewThe following minimum expectations will be reviewed at your 90‑day review. These expectations are listed to help you focus on the preliminary expectations to maintain the position of Maintenance Purchaser. You may be assigned a specific focus area based on plant needs at the time and will be supplied with a focus list that will be used during your initial 90‑day evaluation.
We do not wish to restrict your thirst for knowledge or your creative spirit, but we encourage you to master the listed Key Result Expectations as they will be reviewed at your 90‑day review. Additional efforts and skill applications are always welcome.
- Maintain the maintenance support parts inventory by ordering, tracking, and placing purchase orders, receiving goods, matching invoices, and properly coding to correct departments.
- Investigate alternative suppliers for better quality and pricing on supplies, parts, and equipment.
- Confere with current and prospective vendors to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, and delivery terms.
- Confere with managers regarding overdue material and parts concerning repair delays.
- Handle record‑keeping and inventory management; filing; cycle counting and year‑end inventory audits; issue/return parts and materials; maintain housekeeping and organization of parts room.
- Stock parts shelves; record and maintain an inventory of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed.
- Examine tools and parts received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
- Apply parts work orders in SAP as listed on the parts sign‑out sheet.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attend safety training and serve on the facility safety committee.
- Participate in hazard analysis and resolution.
- Pass a standardized test to assess basic knowledge of the various trade skills required for the Maintenance Purchaser level.
- Comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company.
- Use personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, hearing protection, protective clothing, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures.
- Work with cutting & machining fluids, solvents, lubricants, and other hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety controls.
- Lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in weight.
- Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion.
- Work in levels of noise greater than 60 decibels requiring hearing protection.
- Exposure to smells or odors from spices, ingredients, or cleaning chemicals.
