The Opportunity

CAI is looking for a seasoned IT professional to support FOIA case management and other information access solutions, ideally with experience in system operation and maintenance in a customer environment. This on-site support specialist will monitor system operation, troubleshoot issues impacting performance, and support the correction and enhancement of the system’s software modules and other work products to meet customer business requirements for new features, enhancements of existing capabilities, and corrections of defects identified in the system.

The role provides direct support for users performing vital information access services to the American public and delivers system and database support to a mission‑critical system.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in project planning, system design, and implementation activities for new system capabilities and enhancement of existing functionality.
  • Supports the deployment and testing of software.
  • Responds to testing feedback.
  • Analyzes user reports and system performance to identify system risks and opportunities.
  • Provides recommendations and advises on system improvements, automation, and risk management based on analysis.
  • Interfaces with other team members to ensure they have a clear understanding of system issues and requirements.
  • Supports the development of system and user documentation as well as other training materials to promote adoption and use of the system.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience providing direct user support resolving technical and procedural issues, including resetting passwords and unlocking user accounts.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop administration.
  • Ability to research, troubleshoot, and resolve Oracle and Microsoft issues in production and development environments.
  • Skill in accessing and querying Oracle database data and objects using SQL
    * Plus and SQL Developer.
  • Ability to perform Windows OS and Oracle database maintenance, including account setup, configuration, backup and recovery, security protocols, patching, troubleshooting, storage capacity, performance, and availability.
  • Direct support of IT system users in a professional manner, resolving issues that prevent users from performing vital work functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, working independently and effectively with users, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Residence within a commutable distance to the customer site near College Park, MD.
  • Six (6) years of IT experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus an additional six (6) years of experience.
  • Possession of Top Secret clearance and either DOE ‘Q’ clearance or ability to obtain it, along with SCI access.

Desired:

  • Experience performing Oracle database administration for 64‑bit databases on Windows, including installation, configuration, security protocols, patching, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, performance tuning, maintenance, and availability.
  • Experience managing virtual and physical servers within a VMware environment.
  • Experience managing EC2 Instances on a Windows AWS environment.

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. It represents positions within CACI that are consistently available. Applicants may also be considered for other positions at CACI.
