Admissions Reader – Yale University
Part‑time Admissions Reader reporting to the Director of Admissions for the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH). This role involves reviewing and evaluating applications and presenting written assessments to admissions staff. Applicants will work independently, pay close attention to detail, and adhere to admission criteria. The position is remote and requires 10–15 hours per week.
Salary Range$55,000.00 – $85,000.00
OverviewReview and assess applications to determine if candidates qualify for admission to YSPH. Provide written summaries, present findings to the admissions committee, and support decision‑making. Training will be provided before and during the cycle.
Required Skills & Abilities- Read and assess applications in accordance with admission criteria
- Provide written summaries of applicant qualifications
- Work independently with strong attention to detail
- Manage time effectively and meet admissions timelines
- Prior experience with the admissions process
- Evaluate all admissions applications and determine applicant standing within local, national, and international pools.
- Present applicant recommendations to the admissions committee and brief on relevant schools and regions.
- Develop public presentations designed to promote Yale to prospective applicants.
- Advise secondary school counselors, applicants, and parents on the application process.
- Coordinate alumni recruiting activities in assigned geographical areas.
- Serve as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Background Check RequirementsAll candidates will be subject to pre‑employment background screening, including motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing, and credit checks as required. Offers are contingent on successful completion.
Health RequirementsPositions may require vaccinations, tests, or examinations as required by law, regulation, or university policy.
