Job SummaryThe Tax Manager position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills. As a key member of our team, you will foster a collaborative environment, promote positivity, and uphold high standards of professionalism within the firm. You will manage tax‑related matters, including identifying and addressing cybersecurity threats, cultivating client relationships, and providing strategic guidance. Additionally, you will supervise tax return preparation, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess an active CPA license, extensive experience in tax compliance work, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Supervise staff and seniors, provide constructive feedback to the team, evaluate progress, and offer guidance.
- Demonstrate expertise in a particular tax field.
- Provide high‑quality tax planning for clients that incorporate all business needs.
- Present oneself professionally and uphold high communication standards within the firm.
- Take ownership of actions and continuously expand expertise in tax‑related matters.
- Cultivate relationships with clients, provide timely responses to inquiries, and engage in discussions around clients’ strategic and operational effectiveness.
- Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in tax planning and return preparation.
- Supervise tax return preparation and ensure quality and accuracy before finalization.
- Provide leadership by developing junior staff, managing workloads effectively, and ensuring timely and profitable completion of engagements.
- Initiate and develop relationships with prospective clients, understand market competitiveness, and identify opportunities for cross‑selling services.
- Participate in external networking groups to expand the firm’s reach and visibility.
- Ownership mentality and commitment to personal and professional development.
- Responsibility for all phases of an engagement.
- Specialized knowledge and expertise in tax‑related matters.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, emphasizing collaboration and positivity within the team.

- Understanding of engagement and project profitability; monitoring budgets to ensure timely completion of jobs.
- Leadership capabilities to mentor and develop junior staff, supervise tax return preparation, and provide feedback.
- Business development skills to initiate and nurture client relationships, understand market competitiveness, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
- External networking with groups outside the firm.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Active CPA or EA license with a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance work.
- Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
- Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.
