Position: CSE @ TAMU Multiple Faculty Positions

Position Description

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University, invites applications for three full‑time, tenure‑track or tenure‑review positions at the assistant or associate professor level with a nine‑month academic appointment, with a potential summer appointment depending on funding availability. The positions begin in the fall of 2026. Areas of interest include autonomous and cyber‑physical systems, data science, embodied AI, information retrieval, knowledge discovery and data mining, natural language processing, and robotics, with strong encouragement for candidates working in emerging, multidisciplinary areas of computing.

Applicants will be expected to teach, advise, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of departmental activities; and serve the profession. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of 15 departments in the College of Engineering. The faculty include 55 tenured/tenure‑track members and 30 teaching‑focused faculty, many holding national distinctions such as ACM, IEEE, AAAS, SIAM Fellows, and ACM Distinguished Scientists. About half the faculty have received NSF CAREER awards. Collaborations include the Center for Remote Health Technologies and Systems, the Institute of Data Science, the Global Cyber Research Institute, the Cybersecurity Center, and the Bush Combat Development Complex.

The department houses over 1,700 undergraduate students and nearly 700 graduate students in the Peterson Building.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctorate in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field. Ph.D. candidates who have completed all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation will be considered, provided they demonstrate clear progress toward completion.
