DescriptionThe William Michael Barnes ’64 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISEN) invites applications for part-time and/or full time , open rank academic professional track (APT, non-tenure) positions at the Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Principal Lecturer, Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, or Instructional Professor
level . This is a 9
-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment is contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning as early as Spring 2027. Successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level in support of the development of the undergraduate program; advise and mentor undergraduate students; and participate in relevant aspects of the department’s activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

In ISEN, many of the 31 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 15 teaching-focused faculty (APT) hold several national distinctions, including the Frank and Lillian Gilbreth Industrial Engineering Award, the Albert G. Holzman Distinguished Educator Award, Fellow of IISE, HFES, ASME, and ASEE, and Editor-in-Chief. The department has strong and vibrant research programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Data Science, Human and Health Systems Engineering (Human Factors and Ergonomics), and Operations Research.

level, applicants must have a doctoral degree in industrial engineering or a closely related discipline.
