DescriptionThe Department of Nutrition , within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual for one full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) faculty position with an 11-month academic appointment tentatively beginning November 16th, 2026. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Clinical Assistant Professor depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will serve as the Director of the Texas A&M University Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
The Director will ensure that ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accreditation standards for the DPD are met.
The position will consist of management, teaching, and service.
Management: Development of policies and procedures for effectively managing all components of the program and to ensure fair, equitable and considerate treatment of prospective and enrolled students (such as program admission, retention and completion policies).
- Supervision of the ACEND Accredited DPD Program.
- Provide dietetic internship and career guidance to current undergraduate DPD nutrition students and graduate students interested in completing DPD course work to qualify for dietetic internships. Responsibilities include.
- Student recruitment, advisement, evaluation and counseling.
- Maintenance of program accreditation, including timely submission of fees, reports and requests for major program changes.
- Maintenance of the program's student records, including student advising plans and verification statements; verification statements must be kept indefinitely
- Ongoing review of program's curriculum to meet the accreditation standards.
- Communication and coordination with program faculty, preceptors (if present) and others involved with the program.
- Facilitation of processes for continuous assessment of program and student learning outcomes.
Teaching: Develop and teach undergraduates courses including NUTR 304 Food Service Systems Management, NUTR 307 Quantity Food Production, NUTR 408 Professional Development in Nutrition and Dietetics, and others as assigned.
Service: Service to the Department, College, University and the general public as part of the ongoing mission of a Land Grant Institution; including other duties as assigned. Service efforts may include serving on Department, College or University committees or serving in leadership positions of professional organizations including, but not limited to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee;
Assessment Committee;
Nutrition and Dietetic Association Faculty Advisor; and Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Required qualifications:
- Masters level degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field and significant teaching experience at the College level in the field or in a related field
Preferred qualifications:
- Five years experience in clinical or academic dietetics and experience with the food service management industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
