TCOLE Certified Police Officer – City of College Station
The City of College Station seeks a TCOLE Certified propietario que guardi la seguridad de los ciudadanos y garantice el cumplimiento de leyes federales, estatales y municipal es. The officer will perform law‑enforcement duties, investigative work, and special assignments while supporting the Police Department.
Primary Responsibilities- Respond to calls for assistance (medical, safety, policy enforcement).
- Arrest offenders, serve civil and criminal papers, guard and transport prisoners, and handle emergency calls.
- Patrol assigned areas by car, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot to discourage crime and maintain accountability for a specific geographic area.
- Investigate criminal cases, secure crime scenes, preserve evidence, and cooperate with other agencies.
- Perform traffic law enforcement, investigate traffic accidents, inspire traffic control, and serve civil and criminal papers.
- ు specific duties—lending assistance to other officers as required.
- Maintain required certifications and active training proficiencies.
- Prepare and submit crime and activity reports.
- Engage community partners and respond to citizen inquiries about laws and ordinances.
- Patrol, traffic, criminal investigator, crime prevention officer, field training officer, recruitment/training officer, or any other assignment designated by the Police Chief.
- Required
: GED equivalent plus 12 hrs of college or 2 years continuous military service or high‑school diploma. - Required
:
Basic TCOLE peace officer certification. - Required
:
Knowledge of criminal and traffic codes. - Required
:
Physical endurance and agility standards, ability to perform demanding maneuvers and operate equipment/vehicles. - Required
:
Valid Texas driver’s license;
United States citizenship. - Preferred
:
Bachelor’s degree önemli.
- Drug Screening – Pre‑employment drug test as per city policy.
- Fingerprint‑based background screening for conditional offers.
- Application before deadline.
- Physical fitness test (run/row).
- Written examination (waived).
- Preliminary interview and records check.
- Oral interview, fingerprinting, polygraph, background investigation.
- Chief’s panel interview, drug screen, medical exam.
- Psychological exam (if required).
- Convictions ≥ Class B in last 10 years or community supervision for a misdemeanor.
- Family violence convictions.
- Dishonorable military discharge.
- Controlled substance or illegal drug use in last 5 years (unless prescribed).
- Prescription medication or marijuana used in last 2 years.
- Illegal delivery/furnishing of controlled substances.
