• Provides assessment, teaching and follow‑up instruction to a specific patient population.
• Provides guidance to management, staff and physicians.
• Identifies needs, plans and implements educational programs within specialty areas for staff, patients and/or community.
• Participates actively in Nursing and Patient Education Department activities.
• Serves in a consultative role to staff, management and health professionals in the hospital and community with a focus on quality and cost containment.
• Disseminates and conducts nursing research.
• Leads the development and attainment of organizational goals.
• Serves as a liaison among the program staff, advisory committee and facility administration.
• Defines, refines and re‑focuses the role in relation to nursing and organizational needs.
• Role models positive guest relations and collaborative practice.
• Is self‑directed in fostering personal expertise and future professional development.

• Education:
  
  Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience:
  
  One year of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
