About the Role:
As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and high‑quality care to our patients. Your primary focus will be to assist patients with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity at all times. You will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient conditions and report any changes promptly.
This role requires a strong commitment to patient‑centered care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced healthcare environment. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact the well‑being and recovery of the individuals we serve.
- Current and valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification recognized by the state of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of patient care and safety procedures.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by the employer.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Previous experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Additional training or coursework in geriatric or rehabilitative care.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Provide support with mobility, including transferring patients and assisting with walking or exercise.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status, needs, and any observed changes.
- Support patients emotionally by offering companionship and responding to their concerns with empathy.
- Assist with feeding patients and ensuring proper hydration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with facility policies.
The required skills such as patient care, communication, and safety procedures are essential for providing daily hands‑on support to patients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and compassion. Effective communication skills enable the CNA to accurately report patient conditions and collaborate with nursing staff to deliver coordinated care. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and documenting patient information to maintain high standards of care and compliance.
Preferred skills like familiarity with electronic health records enhance efficiency in managing patient data and improve overall workflow. Additionally, skills in CPR, First Aid, and specialized care training empower the CNA to respond confidently to emergencies and provide tailored support to diverse patient populations.
