Title:
LANDSCAPER II (Full‑time)
- Location:
TAMU – 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843. (Openings at other locations within the school district available; online applications accepted only). - Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Full‑time with optional part‑time flexibility. - Pay Range: $13.00 – $17.50 per hour.
- Experience:
Prior landscape construction required.
Cultivates and maintains landscaping and grounds surrounding campus buildings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Cares for established lawns: mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, thatch removal, trimming and edging around flower beds, walks and walls.
- Plants flowers, pulls weeds, repairs structures and maintains outdoors as needed.
- Applies pesticides to control pests such as mosquitoes, wasps, ticks and others.
- Mixes, sprays and spreads fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
- Determines and plants appropriate seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees and shrubs.
- Uses gardening tools to apply mulch for protection.
- Attaches wires from planted trees to support stakes.
- Interprets construction documents and implements the design.
- Operates construction‑related equipment as needed.
- Follows SOPs for assigned tasks and projects; follows all safety protocols.
- Attends required training.
- Deploys for emergency response due to inclement weather or crisis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three years landscape construction experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic ability to interpret and implement construction documents.
- Intermediate ability to operate construction‑related equipment.
- Extensive driving, walking and equipment operation.
- Exposure to extreme weather, pesticides, fertilizers, pollen, paint and petroleum products.
- Work‑time: 90 % physical labor, 10 % training and miscellaneous.
