Pastry Assistant

Base pay range

$16.00/hr - $17.00/hr

The Pastry Assistant supports the pastry Chef in the preparation, production, and presentation of baked goods and desserts. This role assists with daily baking tasks, ingredient prep, finishing, and maintaining a clean and organized pastry kitchen. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn professional pastry techniques in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist with the preparation and production of baked goods and desserts including breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, fillings, and plated desserts.
• Measure, scale, and prep ingredients accurately according to recipes and production sheets.
• Support mixing, shaping, baking, glazing, decorating, and finishing of pastry items.
• Help with basic decorating and presentation under the direction of the Pastry Chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with receiving, labeling, and proper storage of pastry ingredients and finished products.
• Help with breakdown, cleaning, and end-of-shift kitchen organization.
• Work collaboratively with culinary and service teams to meet production deadlines.

• Previous kitchen, bakery, or pastry experience preferred but not required.
• Culinary or baking school experience a plus.
• Basic understanding of baking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to learn.
