HVAC Lead Installer - Sears

Overview

JOB SCOPE:
Responsible for the installation of a minimum of 3 heating and air conditioning systems per week. The HVAC Lead Installer will also be responsible for the completion of frontline services and repairs to company standards of assigned territory. The HVAC Lead Installer is responsible for providing excellent customer service while supervising the work of the Install Assistant. Must maintain high quality standards and timely job performance.

Responsible for achieving acceptable performance metrics, productivity goals, and quality scores for assigned area.

The HVAC Lead Installer ensures all installations of Heating and Cooling products (Heat Pumps, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Gas or Oil furnaces, and Boilers) are completed in a timely manner and comply with all company, city, state, and county code requirements while maintaining the highest level of customer service. This position promotes and sells additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the Company.

The HVAC Lead Installer provides direct mentoring of HVAC Assistant and performs frontline service and repairs across all product lines offered by the company.

Reports To Area Manager, HVAC

Responsibilities / Skills / Experience
  • Installs new heating and air conditioning systems and related accessories according to company, safety, and manufacturer specifications
  • Ensures complete protection of customer’s property during installation or service of product
  • Removes old equipment from the customer’s home and cleans up all areas utilized for the new installation
  • Maintains the highest level of customer service while performing installation and other job duties and promoting additional products and services
  • Supervises Install Helper to ensure high quality and timely completion of all installations
  • Maintains time management and quality standards
  • Ensures material inventory and vehicle maintenance meet company requirements
  • Supports obtaining and processing all required permitting based on code requirements
  • Coaches and trains others on company operating policies related to HVAC installation and other products as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Technical school degree or equivalent
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • License/certification in relevant field
  • Valid Driver License for the state of employment
  • Up to 100% travel
  • 18 years of age or older
Required Skills
  • Applicable CFC License
  • Ability to read, understand and apply written technical material
  • Complete knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used to service HVAC units
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to receive truck stock at home if a company vehicle is retained at residence or other location
  • Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including significant overtime, overnight and Sunday service as needed
  • Ability to follow regulations related to hazardous materials
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, reach and climb
  • Ability to drive and travel long distances (over 5 hours) and in various weather conditions
  • Ability to access interior and exterior landscapes and different levels of terrain
  • Commitment to safe work practices and coaching others in safety, PPE, and safe driving
  • Demonstrates professional technical behavior and maintains a positive company image
