• Follow all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Perform cleanup duties.
• Perform material handling and storage duties.
• Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; use and care of craft‑specific tools and equipment.
• Apply craft‑related mathematics and safety standards relevant to rigging.
• Inspect rigging equipment and hardware; apply common hitches, emergency stop signal, basic crane hand signals, knot tying (bowline & clove hitch) and use rigging equipment relevant to craft‑specific tasks.
• Identify equipment types; perform inspection, service and maintenance as required; read and use equipment operator’s manual; assist with equipment service and maintenance.
• Identify components and controls of equipment and respond to equipment emergency procedures.
• Operate self‑propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone to grade specifications for earthwork structures.
• Operate GPS grader as required.
• Drive grader, regulate blade height and angle, lower scarifier, tilt front wheels, and use reference stakes or hand signals to level surface to specified grade.
• Mix materials and operate a grader and other heavy equipment to spread and level materials such as gravel, stone, and dirt for road construction.
• Maintain roadways by operating machinery like motor graders, bulldozers, and tractors to clear dirt roads, lay base material, and excavate for utilities and concrete.
• Operate tractor‑drawn grader to cut and smooth subgrade on street and highway paving projects.
• Check equipment daily for maintenance (greasing, oil changes, routine maintenance, blade changes).
• Construct new road grades, read and understand grade stakes, use sight perception to balance grade, cut ditches to tolerance, and finish grade aggregates to suitable tolerances.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Mental Demands:
  Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; work at varying heights; recognize and report safety hazards; assemble and disassemble objects; operate equipment and power tools.
• Physical Demands:
  See hazards; bend knees for lifting; stoop for positioning and lifting; lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; comprehend and respond to audible/visual instructions, alarms and warnings; climb/balance on ladders, scaffolding, and structures; kneel for positioning; reach above shoulders; demonstrate manual dexterity.
• Working Conditions:
  
  Extreme heat or cold; noise level above 85 decibels; wet/humid environment; cramped quarters; fluctuating ventilation; work inside and outside.
