Brief Description

As an Entry‑Level Salesforce Developer
, you’ll work closely with the Information Services team and interact across all levels of the organization in a positive and productive manner. You’ll apply your mastered understanding of business and functional requirements to create new resources and maintain existing custom deployments within the CRM database and other technology solutions for all users. You’ll help gather and define requirements, identify gaps, and translate business needs into technical solutions.

You’ll also develop and deploy custom solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Visualforce, including unit tests and code coverage compliance. In this role, you’ll maintain process automation, troubleshoot data integrity issues, and assist in resolving both procedural and technical database problems. You’ll be contributing to a mission‑driven organization dedicated to purposeful philanthropy, while developing skills that will help you grow into an experienced Salesforce professional.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, management information systems, or similar, OR equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience developing in Apex, C#, or Java with unit tests and code coverage compliance.
  • Hands‑on experience with front‑end and back‑end scripting and development (HTML, CSS, ASP, SQL).
  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and building integrations.
  • Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
  • Working knowledge of another object‑oriented language such as Python or Java.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data load issues, governor limits, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Skilled in using debug logs and developer tools for troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable resolving system configuration and data issues in Salesforce.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on code quality and continuous learning.
  • Interest in supporting the mission of Texas A&M Foundation through scalable technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven critical thinking skills and ability to apply analytical rigor to solve problems and achieve higher‑level goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and build cross‑functional partnerships.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I or Certified JavaScript Developer.
  • Experience in a structured deployment environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems, ERP platforms, or backend development.
  • Experience in cloud environments deploying scalable, secure, mission‑critical services.
  • Experience in nonprofit or fundraising environments, preferably in higher education.

    Occasional travel, including overnight stays, for business or professional development.
  • Physical demands:
    Primarily computer‑based work with occasional standing, bending, or lifting.
