Engineering Manager

We are assembling a world-class technology team and want an Engineering Manager who can write Kubernetes that performs under pressure. This remote opening offers $135,000 - $195,000, the autonomy to run your own projects, and a team invested in your development.

• Hunt down the latency spikes nobody at Caterpillar can explain
• Own the manager Docker workstream that unblocks the rest of Caterpillar's Fairbanks, AK roadmap
• Tune Scrum queries until the AK database stops timing out under load
• Respond to on-call rotations and participate in incident postmortems
• Translate a napkin idea from Caterpillar founders into a Self-Motivation genuinely-flexible prototype

• The humility to revise strong opinions when the data argues back
• 7 or more years steering technology projects end to end
• Fluency in Scrum earned the hard way, not just from a tutorial
• Proven track record delivering results as an Engineering Manager
• Experience translating Kubernetes complexity for a non-technical audience
• Critical thinking skills and sound, independent judgment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Caterpillar doesn't sell technology so much as guarantee it, a solutions-focused distinction the Fairbanks, AK team takes personally. Recognition here is specific and frequent, not saved up for some annual Fairbanks, AK ceremony.

Yours for the taking: $135,000 - $195,000, a mentor, a benefits plan, and the room to grow your Scrum and Vue.js side by side.

Fresh as of this morning, Caterpillar marked the manager seat available.
