Position: Direct Sales Agent Specialist (2932) - Direct Auto

Job Description

The Direct Sales Agent Specialist (Direct Auto Insurance is an Allstate Business) is responsible for the profitable growth and attainment of business goals by driving new business sales and understanding customers' needs to build rapport and trust. This position drives sales, builds and retains a book of business within the market/retail location, attracts new customers, cross‑seals existing customers, and supports our product offerings including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance.

The role sells to walk‑in customers, markets products outside of the office via marketing calls and in‑person visits, creates community relationships, promotes continued growth, and assists customers in the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business sales and achieve profitable growth.
  • Build rapport and trust with customers to secure and retain business.
  • Generate new customers and cross‑sell existing customers.
  • Sell to walk‑in customers and market products through outbound calls and community outreach.
  • Maintain a strong book of business within the assigned retail location.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 0 – 2 years of experience.
  • P&C licensing (preferred) or must attain required licensure within 90 days of joining the company.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Successfully closes sales of insurance and ancillary products.
  • Meets and exceeds sales goals through new product sales, cross‑sell, and retention.
  • Leverages community contacts to build a sales pipeline and maintain a physical presence in the community (e.g., car dealerships, local events, community organizations).
  • Initiates outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
  • Monitors key competitors in the local market and makes suggestions to improve the company’s position.
  • Works with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes.
  • Delivers optimal results within appropriate metrics: quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance while complying with all rules and procedures.
  • Understands, promotes, and remains current on company underwriting guidelines and policy changes.
  • Receives customer payments, issues receipts, and verifies reports of receipts for cash drawers.
Compensation Unlicensed Candidates
  • Base compensation: $20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Licensed Candidates (Licensed to sell Auto or Property & Casualty Insurance)
  • Base hourly rate plus incentive pay—including commissions and bonuses—based on individual and team performance.
