Licensed Psychologist - SCI Phoenix

THE POSITION

Are you ready to shape the future of correctional psychology? The Department of Corrections (DOC) is on the lookout for a passionate and highly skilled Licensed Psychologist to become a vital part of our psychology department. In this role, you will deliver psychological services to inmates at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix and contribute to rehabilitation and safer communities.

As a Licensed Psychologist, you will provide mental health services to inmates at SCI Phoenix. Your responsibilities include conducting assessments and evaluations using a variety of psychological diagnostic measures to determine intellectual functioning, personality, and related factors. You will provide individual therapy sessions and crisis intervention for inmates, and you will screen inmates and make referrals for psychiatric or other mental health services as needed.

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• You must possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.
• As an employee in the Department of Corrections, you must obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within two months of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment in the job.

Other Requirements:

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must meet the PA residency requirement

Legal Requirement:

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
