Superior Tube’s machine operators setup, operate, and visually inspect equipment and raw materials used in making precision metal tubing.
This is for 3rd shift (12am-8am Monday-Friday). First shift is by seniority only.
ResponsibilitiesThe Machine Operator will:
Provide recommendations to operations teams to resolve any safety concerns, identify safety risks, and proactively reduce these safety risks to improve operations. The primary focus is the establishment of an “Injury-Free Workplace Culture.”
Sets-up, operates, adjusts equipment, and lays out material in accordance with instructions to meet health & safety, quality, and production standards.
Measure and visually inspect product, apply in-process quality control methods and statistical process control (SPC) during product processing to ensure that it meets specified requirements.
Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) such as cleaning tooling, guides and other parts contacting the product, inspect accessible parts for wear, check and maintain the proper level of fluids and other media, and otherwise ensure work centers are in good operational order.
Change tooling, fluids and media on equipment operated.
Handle and transport material and supplies manually as required to maintain product flow. RequirementsMachine Operator Requirements:
2-3 years of demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing, warehousing, industrial, or any other types of facilities with knowledge of quality processes and safety procedures. Experience in metal working operations is a plus.
Experience working on the following equipment is preferred but not required: tube drawing, furnaces, tube rollers/reducers, chemical baths, polishing, metal saws, precision grinder, etc.
Knowledge of basic hand tools. Experience with micrometers or calipers preferred.
Must operate with credibility and unquestioned professional and ethical integrity.
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
This is an on-site position working in a manufacturing facility. Not a work from home opportunity.
Must be able to meet the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodations which includes but is not limited to, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, walking, hand/finger dexterity, pushing/pulling, reaching, visual inspections, talking and listening.
