Job Description

One of our large pharmaceutical clients is actively looking to hire a Molecular Histologist with strong expertise in advanced histotechniques and quantitative image analysis. The successful candidate will perform molecular and imaging histology work across multiple therapeutic areas, primarily focusing on projects related to neurodegenerative, neuroinflammatory, renal, and liver diseases. This technology is used to validate human genetic targets, understand mechanisms of action, and confirm target engagement and effects on disease phenotypes in healthy and diseased tissues.

The scientist will join a team with expertise in cutting-edge technologies including human and animal precision cut tissue slice (PCTS) culture, molecular histology, complex in-vitro, ex-vivo, and in vivo models, high-content imaging, and more. The environment encourages interaction with internal experts from multiple disciplines such as AI/ML and statistics, facilitating the design, execution, and analysis of tissue biology experiments to support drug development.

Major roles include interacting with project teams to identify how histotechniques can support target validation and drug development, as well as designing, performing, and analyzing histology studies to meet project timelines. Responsibilities:

  • Use a broad knowledge of histotechnique (including microtomy, cryotomy, microscopy, automated IHC, ISH, etc.) to develop, validate, and implement assays.
  • Develop and evaluate automated and AI algorithms using image analysis software (HALO, Visiopharm, etc.) for quantitative data generation.
  • Maximize information from imaging readouts by collaborating with AI/ML and statistics teams.
  • Independently execute experiments, conduct data analyses, and deliver results timely.
  • Record data clearly in electronic lab notebooks and communicate results internally and externally.
  • This project lasts 12 months with potential extensions.

    Compensation:

$43-48/hr, with exact pay varying based on skills, experience, and education.

Benefits start on the 31st day and include medical, dental, vision insurance, HSA, FSA, DCFSA options, and 401k with employer matching. Paid sick leave and other paid time off are also provided.
