DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor, you will supervise a staff that provides rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation, and social development programs for court committed and adjudicated delinquent residents in the youth development center/youth forestry camp (YDC/YFC) system. You will administer integrated rehabilitative services programs and implement individual resident case management plans. You will also ensure the delivery of effective resident care and custody, adherence to principles and practices, and appropriate programming for overactive, emotionally disturbed, or suicidal residents.
This role requires the ability to instruct and guide residents as they develop proper and acceptable behavior, as well as a genuine desire to deliver therapeutic services that elicit positive change. In addition, you will modify or update treatment goals, initiate the release process, and coordinate continued treatment from aftercare service providers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Southeast Youth Development Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Varying 8-hour shifts will include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with 1 evening shift per week, and 1 weekend per month. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $72,252.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Youth Development Counselor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program, and a bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, special education, juvenile justice, or criminal justice; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional counseling experience with court adjudicated or socially maladjusted individuals in an organized program.
Other Requirements:
- You must be willing to accept employment at Southeast Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Montgomery County.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
