Description

Compass Christian Preschool is a ministry of Compass Christian Church. Compass is a church of 4000 and growing with campuses in Colleyville, Grapevine, Roanoke and Online. The preschool provides early childhood education, for children ages 18 months through Transitional Kindergarten in a loving Christian environment.

Substitute Teacher Synopsis

A loving and caring individual assigned to work as a classroom assistant teacher with a lead teacher.

Hours

8:30 am - 2:30 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and/or Friday.

This is a part time, as needed position.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Maintains, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom. The substitute teacher will take directions from the lead teacher in the classroom.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to listen and follow directions provided by the lead teacher;
    • Is organized and has the ability to multitask;
    • Is a great team player with co-workers;
    • Is dedicated to keeping a high standard of care at all times with children;
    • Work with minimal physical restrictions; lift up to 25 lbs., being able to stand for extended periods, climb into an indoor play structure and sit on the floor to play with children;
    • Can think on their feet, work well under pressure. This is essential when working with children;
    • Has the ability to assess and properly respond to situations that arise;
    • Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving;
    • Demonstrate competency, good judgement, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities;
    • Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience;
    • Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and their cultures;
    • Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the school;
