Technologist-Surgical II PRN

Functions under the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) guidelines. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgery. Assists the surgical team by preparing the sterile setup, passing items, and maintaining supplies. Supports in patient preparation, movement, cleaning, and technical functions like exposure and homeostasis to ensure safe and effective surgeries. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in surgical procedures according to policies and procedures.
• Providing intraoperative care.
• Using equipment and supplies safely and effectively based on patient needs.
• Demonstrating technical accountability.
• Participating in ongoing education.
• Completing assigned goals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience or certification as required by state law.
• Skill in clear communication in English, both written and verbal.
• 20 hours of continuing education annually to maintain certification.
• Current national certification through an approved accreditation body.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
