- Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating all nursing service programs to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with managing daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance oversight.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update nursing policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high‑quality resident outcomes.
- Review documentation and nurses’ notes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; provide feedback and coaching as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resident care and maintain continuity of services.
- Oversee staff orientation and ongoing education programs, ensuring that all nursing personnel are trained and competent in facility standards, clinical procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement, and evaluate in‑service training sessions, annual competency programs, and skills validations for nursing staff.
- Incorporate evidence‑based materials, teaching tools, and technology to enhance the effectiveness of educational programs.
- Identify staff learning needs and develop individualized plans for professional development and performance improvement.
- Support infection control, safety, and quality assurance initiatives within the nursing department.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture that values education, quality care, and teamwork.
- Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.
- Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age‑related needs of the residents served.
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
