Overview

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (“Illinois EPA”) is seeking a highly qualified individual with a strong background in the Illinois Environmental Protection Act ("Act") and associated land regulations to serve as a Senior Public Service Administrator, Option 4, Southern Region Field Operations Manager, in the Bureau of Land/Land Pollution Control. The successful candidate will plan and direct the activities of FOS staff in the Region locations of Collinsville and Marion.

This individual will be responsible for managing the everyday activities of the region including inspection and enforcement of sites and assisting other programs in the Bureau of Land. The successful candidate will set priorities for the region and ensure activities are consistent with State and Federal regulations.

Essential Functions
  • As the Bureau of Land, Southern Region Field Operations (FOS) Section Manager, plans, organizes, coordinates and reviews the work of subordinate staff engaged in responsibilities related to conducting State and Federal field inspections/investigations and monitoring activities including;
  • Serves as full-line supervisor;
  • Coordinates and organizes;
  • Develops and implements Regional policies, procedures, and work program activities consistent with BOL/FOS and DLC requirements;
  • Reviews, evaluates and interprets relevant regulatory, statutory, technical, and policy requirements;
  • Meets and confers with the administrative support staff, DLC, and other Bureaus regarding multi-media investigative compliance, and enforcement issues;
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
