Aquatics Maintenance Worker
The Aquatics Maintenance Worker position is Seasonal
(Mid-April through Mid-September with hiring and training beginning as early as December)
This position will perform a variety of maintenance duties pertaining to the overall operation and safety of Collinsville Aqua Park. The Aquatics Maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining the waterpark amenities and grounds. The Aquatics Maintenance employee will perform the day-to-day maintenance operations as well as perform water chemistry checks, clean pools, and document all maintenance performed. They ensure proper appearance, cleanliness, and safety throughout the park, its features, and grounds.
Aquatics Maintenance will help in other areas of the waterpark as needed.
- 16 years of age or older
- 6 months of prior aid experience in municipal or commercial grounds and/or pool maintenance
- Ability to adapt quickly
- Individuals who are team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to use various computer programs including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other software programs and to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely
- Familiarity with the supervision and operation of pools, pool chemicals, backwashing, and filters.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Ability to walk, run, stand, sit and complete a variety of motor skills
- Ability to walk and/or stand on concrete for the majority of your shift
- Ability to bend to the floor and reach overhead
- Ability to lift and carry 30-70 pounds regularly to chest height
- Ability to hear and see well
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional punctuality and attendance
- Ability to project a positive attitude, manner, and appearance
- Ability to think clearly and respond appropriately in an emergency
- Ability to demonstrate mature judgment and ethical behavior
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical equations
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to use knowledge; critical thinking skills; judgment and problem-solving skills to handle situations
- Ability to resolve conflict fairly, safely, and in a timely manner
- Ability to work staggered shift assignments as necessary including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet and/or other unpleasant outdoor conditions
- Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
This position is $15.00 per hour.
