Maintenance Planner - Day Shift (Monday-Friday 7:00 am-4:00 pm)

Location: Colonial Heights, VA facility

Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 USD Annual

About The Opportunity

Join us as a Maintenance Planner in a dynamic manufacturing environment that produces Trojan condoms, scent booster, and in-wash additives. In this role you will purchase MRO materials, plan daily maintenance work, and work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support plant production goals.

Role Summary

Primary responsibilities include purchasing MRO materials and non-inventory expendables, planning daily maintenance work, developing relationships with engineering and maintenance teams, and ensuring that the planned maintenance work supports production requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review requisition orders to ensure accuracy of item specifications.
  • Process approved requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and send copies to vendors.
  • Conduct purchasing price research and perform cost analysis.
  • Monitor the status of requisitions and orders.
  • Verify inventory stock through an automated system to validate restocking.
  • Evaluate inventory reorder points and maximum stock levels; interface with engineering and floor mechanics.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries to clarify orders, changes, delivery requirements, and cancellations.
  • Work with consignment contractors to procure high usage/critical parts.
  • Maintain vendor contact to ensure delivery schedules are met and prevent missed deliveries.
  • Resolve problems with vendors to expedite deliveries and prevent stock outs.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review material master data, info records, and purchasing files.
  • Track maintenance parts reporting on spending, turns, and other KPI’s; daily review of outstanding work orders and priorities.
  • Determine feasibility of work orders and receive approval to pursue.
  • Obtain blueprints and/or electrical schematics for review.
  • Organize all parts, tooling, and verify equipment availability for all maintenance work requested.
  • Utilize kitting process to increase effectiveness; estimate maintenance labor hours and materials needed to complete work orders.
  • Prioritize work to be completed.
  • Prepare requisitions and allocate material to work orders.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance and Production Supervisors to ensure scheduled work is completed and documented in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for all preventative and predictive maintenance planning.
  • Develop and track work orders.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage contractors.
  • Report maintenance (weekly, monthly, quarterly, & annually).
  • Assist the Engineering Group on engineering studies and projects.
  • Work with Engineering & Maintenance Staff / Plant Staff to set and meet plant goals and objectives.
  • Recommend new projects and cost reductions.
  • Participate in the reduction of plant equipment downtime and plan corrective actions.
  • Participate in team meetings with hourly and salaried personnel.
  • Become a resource for hourly and salaried teams.
  • Use the SAP PM system and assist in training measures.
Minimum Education , Training, And Experience Requirements
  • Associate’s degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment performing maintenance planning activities and/or maintenance & engineering experience.
Preferred Education, Training, And Experience Requirements
  • Prefer a bachelor’s degree or advanced training in a mechanical/technical craft.
  • Prefer experience with a manufacturer of FDA Medical Device(s), Rubber/polymers or similar products; knowledge of GMP’s/QSR is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills – clear, concise, multiple media – verbal, written, etc.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, departments, customers, and suppliers to accomplish objectives.
  • Must have some experience in making presentations to large and small groups.
  • Must demonstrate effective written communication skills.
