OR Surgery Scheduler

Position Overview

The OR Surgery Scheduler facilitates and coordinates the Perioperative Surgical Services Operating Room Schedule. The OR Surgery Scheduler supports fiscal and time management objectives of Perioperative Surgical Services by seeking and coordinating clinical and administrative services through effective interactions with the health care team.

• CPR, Basic Life Support required for hire and continued employment.

• Minimum of two (2) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting.
• Four (4) years experience in OR scheduling preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, assigns surgical cases based on established block/priority times.
• Works primarily on the day shift, no weekends or holidays.
• Shift rotation and time schedule may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements.

• Lifting less than 20 lbs.;
  Lifting 20–50 lbs.
• Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motion.
• Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking.
• Fast pace environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
