Overview
The OR Surgery Scheduler facilitates and coordinates the Perioperative Surgical Services Operating Room Schedule.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe OR Surgery Scheduler supports fiscal and time management objectives of Perioperative Surgical Services by seeking and coordinating clinical and administrative services through effective interactions with the health care team. Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, assigns surgical cases based on established block/priority times.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for HireCPR, Basic Life Support licence, certification, or registration requirements for continued employment: CPR, Basic Life Support.
QualificationsREQUIRED:
Minimum of two (2) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting. Strong customer service skills and patient/customer centered focus in a positive manner in all situations. Four (4) years experience in OR scheduling. Education/training
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Education/training PREFERRED: N/A.
Previous experience in a Level I Trauma Center.
AdditionalPosition Requirements
Works primarily on the day shift, no weekends or holidays. Shift rotation and time schedule may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work unit. Independent action(s) required:
Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, assigns surgical cases based on established block/priority times. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A.

Lifting less than 20 lbs. Lifting 20-50 lbs.
