Accounting Specialist

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support essential financial operations in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This Long-term contract-to-hire position will handle a broad mix of accounting activities, including payables, receivables, billing, reconciliations, and payroll support. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, maintains accurate records, and works effectively across multiple financial processes in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate timely payment of approved obligations.

- Prepare customer invoices, track incoming payments, and help maintain accurate accounts receivable records.

- Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial data is complete and reliable.

- Support day-to-day accounting operations by updating ledgers, organizing records, and assisting with routine financial reporting.

- Review billing activity for accuracy, resolve issues with charges or payment status, and communicate with internal stakeholders as needed.

- Assist with payroll-related tasks by validating data, maintaining records, and helping ensure timely processing.

- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on items requiring clarification, correction, or resolution.

Requirements

- Experience managing accounts payable activities, including invoice review and payment processing.

- Familiarity with general accounting support tasks and financial record maintenance.

- Exposure to payroll processing or payroll-related administrative support.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

- Ability to organize multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
