The Space Systems Group (SSG), part of SPA’s Space and Intelligence Division, provides timely and objective assessments and recommendations integrating technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis. We focus on our key clients in the Space community including the US Space Force’s Space Systems Command (USSF/SSC), one of the three designated Field Commands under USSF. We work tirelessly to provide integrated solutions based on information and communications throughout the chain of command.

SPA has a near‑term need for a Software Developer - Junior/Journeyman

As a software engineer working with our Veracity team at SPA, you will be responsible for building software tools that produce authoritative, data‑driven analyses for our clients. You will be responsible for helping maintain the sterling reputation that we have developed for the quality of our analytical products. As a software engineer you will be responsible for developing novel prototypes and expanding the capabilities of our existing simulation and modeling tools.

Required Qualifications:

• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Science/Engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Math, Applied Math, Chemistry, Statistics)
• 6+ years of professional experience in at least one of the following programming languages:
  Python, C/C++, Java, C#, JavaScript/Typescript, Rust
• Excellent programming and software engineering skills
• Proficient with Git
• Sustained attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a desire to work on and solve challenging problems, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to report to designated work location in Colorado Springs, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer
