Coordinator of Student Engagement

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites a Coordinator of Student Engagement to join Student Life and Leadership. The role reports to the Associate Director of Student Engagement and focuses on overseeing student clubs, LIVE Leadership programming, digital engagement platform, student employee supervision, front‑desk operations, and assessment to enhance retention.

Summary

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Engagement, the Coordinator of Student Engagement is responsible for the oversight, advisement, and implementation of programming related to student clubs and organizations, LIVE Leadership, and student activities planning. The position delivers and assesses programming that promotes student retention through engagement, supports the mission of the Department of Student Life and Leadership, supervises graduate assistants and student employees, manages the Mountain Lion Connect platform, and provides day‑to‑day advisement and support of student club event planning and travel processes.

The role collaborates across campus departments such as University Center, Dean of Students, MOSAIC, Residential Life, Campus Recreation, and more.

Salary & Benefits

Annual salary: $39,012–$46,703. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is exempt from overtime provisions.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate all aspects of student club and organizational operations, including registration renewal, new club registration, event registration, and orientation.
  • Develop, promote, implement, and assess monthly club training programs.
  • Oversee travel processes, semesterly engagement opportunities, award ceremonies, and fairs.
  • Host two student club/organization fairs per academic year and maintain the student club handbook.
  • Conduct outreach to clubs and provide operational updates, recruitment, and communication.
  • Assist with marketing materials and newsletters.
  • Support LIVE Leadership programming: curriculum development, retreats, scholarship selection, seminars, and data tracking.
  • Manage Mountain Lion Connect content, training, and liaison work with the platform provider.
  • Supervise a graduate assistant and other student employees.
  • Co‑supervise the Student Life & Leadership Front Desk, training student workers, and aligning with customer‑service model.
  • Track attendance, establish learning outcomes, conduct assessments, and report to the director.
  • Prepare payroll, travel requests, procurement, and finance functions.
  • Represent Student Life & Leadership on campus programming committees and maintain the website.
  • Maintain branding standards and complete required staff development activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, education, communication, leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience advising college students in co‑curricular programming, leadership, or event planning.
  • Experience supervising student employees.
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree in student affairs, education, or an applicable field.
  • Preferred:
    Experience working with student clubs in a college setting.
  • Preferred:
    Experience applying student development theory in a volunteer or employment setting.
  • Preferred:
    Experience with event planning.
