Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Department Manager 3. This role will be located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, Utah
, Colorado Springs, CO
, Bellevue, NE or Manhattan Beach, CA
.

• Lead a software engineering department, reporting to the SDS Software Engineering Director.
• Set operating objectives and mentor Function Home Room section managers.
• Provide oversight and assistance to multiple programs, ensuring people, skills, and processes meet program goals.
• Manage planning, risk, project performance, schedule, technical quality, and resolve technical or operational problems.
• Develop and maintain talent within the organization and retain top talent.
• Collaborate with senior management and peers, support proposal work, audits, and special assignments.
• Drive employee engagement, hiring, development, training, and retention initiatives.
• Lead special projects and serve as an advisor to staff on schedule and technical issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field with a minimum 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years, or equivalent experience.
• Formal management/leadership experience overseeing 50+ people.
• Experience developing and driving performance standards.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, integration, and test in Java, C, or related technologies.
• U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain program special access.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Experience managing Command and Control (C2) software teams.
• Experience standing up and scaling an organization or leading major change initiatives.
• Experience with complex aerospace systems or ballistic missile defense.

Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, bonuses, and long-term incentives.
