Hardware Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars. These radars are critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. The position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Responsibilities- Perform electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level, including signal, power, and thermal aspects.
- Generate engineering drawings in accordance with IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
- Analyze supplier Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) including step-file and 3D model review for compliance to specifications.
- Support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex communications systems.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support.
- Troubleshoot systems to resolve complex issues and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree with nine plus (9+) years of experience, or four plus (4+) years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience in designing new or modifying existing products, developing technical specifications for production, analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions, and testing hardware conformance to specifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience sustaining ground-based radar systems such as PARCS, UEWR, or PAVE PAWS.
- Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) mission and associated enterprise.
The role is about 90% remote, with occasional on-site requirements. The Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Service (GMASS) program focuses on sustaining, protecting, and integrating mission systems related to ground-based radars.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 per hour.
