Hardware Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and energetic Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars. These radars are critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions. The position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

• Perform electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level, including signal, power, and thermal aspects.
• Generate engineering drawings in accordance with IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
• Analyze supplier Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) including step-file and 3D model review for compliance to specifications.
• Support system integration, test, development, and execution of various types of complex communications systems.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support.
• Troubleshoot systems to resolve complex issues and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree with nine plus (9+) years of experience, or four plus (4+) years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Experience in designing new or modifying existing products, developing technical specifications for production, analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions, and testing hardware conformance to specifications.

• Experience sustaining ground-based radar systems such as PARCS, UEWR, or PAVE PAWS.
• Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) mission and associated enterprise.

The role is about 90% remote, with occasional on-site requirements. The Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Service (GMASS) program focuses on sustaining, protecting, and integrating mission systems related to ground-based radars.

This is a Contract position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

The pay range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 per hour.
