The Quality Engineer III is responsible for risk analysis, control plans, inspection, supplier quality, and metrology methodology activities. They also ensure customer requirements are defined and all project deliverables meet customer, internal and regulatory requirements including all applicable standards. This position is onsite in Colorado Springs.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with product engineers and operators to trouble-shoot and disposition non-conforming product
- Create and submit variance requests, return material authorizations, and documentation change requests to customers as required for assigned programs
- Review drawing and procedure revisions for assigned programs
- Facilitate corrective action projects, including containment activities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective action plans
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, Program Management, and Supply Chain, to apply lean concepts to improve processes
- Review customer proposals and purchase orders for applicable quality requirements to ensure the organization is capable of compliance
- Monitor supplier performance and work with suppliers and customers when needed to resolve product and process issues
- Participate in internal and external audits (AS9100, QML, customer), serving as an audit team member or audit guide as needed
- Represent the Quality team in customer-facing activities (IPT, MRR, etc.) for assigned programs
- Review FAI (First Article Inspection) and EIDP (End Item Data Package) paperwork for completeness and submit for customer and government source inspection as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Related Field of Study is strongly preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of hands on experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience working with Quality Management systems
- Strong knowledge of Quality concepts (e.g. Risk Management, CAPA, Audits, Statistics) is strongly preferred
- Experience in circuit card manufacturing preferred
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain a U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
- Pay Range: $83,800 - $110,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
