Commercial Lender – Springs

Are you an experienced lender with a passion for building strong client relationships and supporting local businesses? Waypoint Bank is seeking a relationship-driven Commercial Lender to join our Colorado Springs, Colorado team.

As Commercial Lender, you will be responsible for developing and managing a profitable commercial loan portfolio, analyzing credit, supporting loan underwriting and closing, and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships. We’re looking for someone who understands sound lending practices, thrives in a relationship-focused role, and is ready to help support the growth of our branch and the businesses we serve.

Develop and manage a customer portfolio that includes commercial loans, consumer loans, cash management, and deposit products. Monitor loan performance, covenant compliance, financial records, and risk ratings.

Analyze applicants’ financial information, including character, cash flow, collateral, capital, credit, and other relevant factors. Prepare detailed loan presentations and recommendations for final loan committee approval.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial, small business, and personal clients. Identify banking needs, develop new business opportunities, and recommend appropriate Bank products and services.

Complete ongoing loan servicing, collateral documentation, periodic collateral inspections, and other activities necessary to maintain a healthy loan portfolio. Assist with delinquent loans and restructuring when necessary.

Represent Waypoint Bank at networking events and other community functions to build relationships, expand the Bank’s reach, and identify new business opportunities.

Work closely with the Branch President and loan department to support branch performance goals and objectives. Assist with branch opening, closing, and coverage as an officer of the Bank.

Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field preferred; MBA a plus

5+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, loan underwriting, and portfolio management

Knowledge of banking regulations and commitment to sound lending practices and exceptional client service

Strong relationship management, business development, communication, and teamwork skills
