Responsibilities- Conduct complex criminal investigations targeting narc-первых related activities.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and deliver briefings to senior personnel and other federal, state, and local agencies.
- Identify and apprehend drug traffickers and arrest individuals involved in criminal drug activities.
- Gather and analyze evidence through imágenes, seizuresming, arrests, execution of search warrants, and various investigative methods.
- Testify on behalf of the federal government in court or before grand juries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on an individual’s unique knowledge, skills, and experience.
Applicants who have not completed previous federal law‑enforcement training must attend and finish a 16‑week residential training program. Current or former 1811 applicants who have successfully completed a Federal Criminal Investigation training program at another federal law konserv training agency may qualify for a 3‑week Special Agent Transition Program (FCIT transcripts must be attached).
Employment Conditions- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret security clearance; each applicant is reviewed individually.
- Must sign a mobility agreement and accept relocation to any DEA facility as needed.
- Position requires pre‑employment medical clearance and annual medical examination.
- A full‑scope pre‑employment polygraph is required.
- Selective Service registration or exemption is required for eligible males.
- Must be at least 21 years old and not older than 36 at appointment (veteran preferences apply).
- Successful completion of an E‑Verify employment verification check.
- Trial period of 1 to 2 years to evaluate performance and public‑interest fit.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and be subject to random drug testing.
- Must successfully complete the 16‑week Basic Agent Training course held at DEA Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GL/GS‑05 level, including:
- Assisting in investigations of alleged or suspected violations of law.
- Writing reports of findings, results, or accomplishments for law‑enforcement activities and/or court cases.
- Researching, collecting, and analyzing data from various sources related to investigations.

One full year of graduate‑level education in a relevant field. - —OR—
Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) from a bachelor’s program (3.0+ GPA, upper third of class, or honor society membership). - —OR—
Combination of education and experience totaling at least 100 % of the requirements.
One (1 Sensor of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GL/GS‑07 level, including:
- Assisting in investigations of alleged or suspected violations of law.
- Collecting and analyzing data from various sources related to investigations.
- Writing reports
Costing, and conducting briefings of findings, results, or accomplishments for law‑enforcement activities and/or court cases. - Meeting or corresponding with court officials and law‑enforcement personnel to discuss case‑related materials.
- Assisting prosecuting attorneys in preparation of technical aspects of cases, and/or testifying or presenting evidence.

Combination of education and experience totaling at least 100 % of the requirements.
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GL/GS‑09 level, including:
- Conducting or supporting federal criminal investigations in collaboration with other agencies.
