Elite Stylist

Overview

The Elite Stylist engages guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. Delivering quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look, the role supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) and focuses on performance, people, and process.

• Performance:
  • Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
  • Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $1,900 and productivity goals for hair services while contributing to store revenue objectives and guest loyalty.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to enhance the guest experience.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
  • Maintain punctual, regular attendance.
• People:
  • Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate retail and service recommendations.
  • Serve all guests, including walk‑ins, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team for a complete store experience.
  • Foster professional peer and brand partner relationships to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.
• Process:
  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
  • Use established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
  • Utilize booking and clientele systems for return services and events.
  • Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
  • Maintain operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, and break area.
  • Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and loss prevention best practices.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Education: Cosmetology license.
• Experience: Previous relevant work experience is required.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency with the latest salon techniques and an aptitude to develop all service categories.
  • Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
  • Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
  • Strong communication skills and customer relationship building.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Special Position Requirements: Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Working Conditions:
  • Continuous mobility, lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $14.81 – $19.00 per hour or services pay for the workweek pursuant to the Company’s Services Compensation Plan. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by law and tips paid by service guests.
