Patient Care Coordinator

Vanguard Skin Specialists is a dermatology and plastic surgery practice serving communities in southern Colorado. • Address patient questions and requests via phone, in person, and through the portal, including but not limited to record requests, referrals, prescription refills, etc.
• Understand patient needs and triage appointments so that patients are scheduled with the correct specialists.
• Prepare patient electronic files prior to visit, e.g., insurance verification, prior authorization, etc.
• Prepare and send written and electronic patient communications.
• Coordinate across teams to help address patient requests and concerns.
• Optimize medical providers’ schedules to make sure their time is efficiently devoted to patient care.
• Ensure patients at risk of skin cancer schedule appropriate follow‑up appointments.
• Greet patients and handle patient check‑in/out for appointments.
• Provide patients with exceptional service, as measured by patient satisfaction surveys and reviews.
• Assist with open houses and events.

• Associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven track record of working well on teams and delivering excellence.
• Excellent verbal and written skills required. Customer service experience a plus.

This is a full‑time position with business hours قوت Monday to Friday. The position is based in Colorado Springs and includes working from multiple locations such as Briargate, Northgate, Broadmoor, and Central.

Vanguard Skin Specialists believes in providing regular feedback and encouraging professional development. Your first check‑in with HR will be approximately 90 days from your date of hire. Written annual reviews take place each fall.

Compensation is $20–23 per hour with eligibility for overtime. The practice covers a portion of the premium for medical benefits and offers vision, dental, and 401(k). The position also comes with paid time off, continuing education stipend, bereavement pay, paid maternity & bonding leave, and employee discounts on products and aesthetic services.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90%.
• Other 10% occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office printers, etc.
• Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, printer, copier, scanner, or fax.
• Be able to communicate accurately, effectively, and frequently.
• Can Staff colors on the computer and software used.
