Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Director, People Operations, the Manager, Benefits & People Operations is responsible for managing and administering comprehensive team member benefit programs to meet the diverse needs of our members and support their holistic health and wellness. The Manager also oversees the People & Culture team’s document retention, data integrity, and compliance processes.
Benefits Management- Manage benefits administration for team members, including oversight of benefits operations, programs, and processes. Develop efficient and automated benefits processes and partner with Payroll to ensure accurate flow of information.
- Manage the annual benefits open enrollment strategy and process, including communication strategy, successful transition with current and new vendors, creation of new file feeds and/or changes to existing file feeds, open enrollment sessions, open enrollment setup in HRIS, and audits of benefits data in HRIS.
- Manage leave programs and processes that ensure the USOPC provides time away from work through all of life’s moments.
- Develop and manage comprehensive benefits communications strategies to ensure team members understand the value of their benefits and maximize utilization to meet their needs.
- Create a holistic benefits onboarding and off‑boarding experience.
- Monitor benefits utilization and costs to identify trends and recommend adjustments.
- Research emerging benefits trends and innovative offerings to enhance the total rewards package and team member experience.
- Manage benefits compliance, such as plan documents, required team member communications, compliance reporting, FMLA, state leaves, benefits records, benefits processes, and regulatory reports. Oversee the execution of benefits processes such as 1095s, open enrollment, non‑discrimination testing, and file feed audits.
- Assist in planning, developing, and recommending changes to benefits programs and policy to maintain competitiveness, compliance, and cost‑effectiveness. Assist the Director in creating innovative strategies that support the USOPC’s holistic total rewards strategy.
- Manage relationships with vendors, brokers, and third‑party administrators.
- Develop strategies to provide ongoing education to help team members understand and fully utilize benefits.
- Partner with the Manager, Mental Health & Wellbeing to optimize benefits programs that support holistic wellness.
- Work closely with the People Operations team to create and deliver strategies to educate and communicate the overall value of the USOPC’s total reward investment provided to team members.
- Collaborate across the P&C team and lead various projects to enhance effectiveness and impact.
- Manage team member HR files and applicable document retention requirements.
- Manage the team member handbook and communications including updates, new releases, etc.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Benefits & People Operations Administrator, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and motivating to maximize collective performance. Contribute to an atmosphere for outstanding teamwork through clear expectations, frequent communication, and providing fair and consistent feedback. Manage performance of team members effectively.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Certification in employee benefits (CEBS) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in benefits and leave administration.
- Experience designing and implementing benefits programs and leading open enrollment processes.
- Experience with benefits technology platforms, preferably UKG.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
