Kratos is seeking a Sr. Software Development Engineer for our Federal Software Engineering team. The position will support dynamic, agile projects implementing a Sec Dev Ops  approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance or troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (c2) domain space.

This candidate must be self‑motivated, a self‑learner, and able to work well within a dynamic schedule. They must effectively communicate with various team members and vendor support. They should leverage modern industry‑standard technologies in engineered solutions and quickly generate estimates and status of design efforts, including materials such as presentation slides, for use internally and externally with customers. This position is available in Colorado Springs, CO.

• Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years (ideally 8 years) technical experience and possess a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline. MS in one of these fields is a plus.
• The successful candidate must possess advanced industry software‑development experience and be proficient in the following technologies:
• Java and C/C++ programming (including network, multi‑threaded, client‑server programming where applicable) on Windows and Linux platforms
• Batch File, Windows Script File, Unix Shell Scripting, and Python Scripting
• Basic understanding of relational database applications and creation of expressions using Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Ability to design solutions to complex engineering problems
• An active Secret security clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

• Comprehension of Sec Dev Ops  and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Docker, and Kubernetes)
• PL/SQL and Oracle database utilization with applications
• Experience with agile development methodologies and management tools
• Experience with Atlassian suite of configuration management tools or similar
• General understanding of launch vehicle and satellite launch ascent, test, and on‑orbit operational processes, practices, and procedures

Competitive salary based on experience and education. Salary Range: $130,000-$170,000.
