The ISSO is responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for an information system and works closely with ISSM and ISO. The position manages the day-to-day security operations of a system, including physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training and awareness. It develops and updates authorization documentation, implements configuration management across authorization boundaries, assesses security impact of changes, and provides "day‑to‑day" support for SCI and SAP activities.
- Assist ISSM in meeting duties and responsibilities.
- Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
- Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
- Notify ISSM when changes impact authorization determination.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance with authorization package.
- Coordinate hardware/software/firmware changes with ISSM and AO/DAO prior to change.
- Monitor system recovery processes to restore security features and procedures.
- Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible.
- Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented.
- Attend required technical and security training.
- Execute cyber security portion of self-inspection, including security coordination and review of all system assessment plans.
- Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and aid implementation of countermeasures.
- Prepare reports on status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.
- Perform ISSO duties in support of in-house and external customers.
- Conduct security impact analysis activities and provide to ISSM on configuration management changes to authorization boundaries.
- 2+ years related experience.
- SAP experience required.
- Prior performance in roles such as System, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
- Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree in a related area + 2 years experience OR equivalent (4 years).
- IAT Level II or IAM Level II (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc.)
- TS/SCI required.
- Must be able to Attain - TS/SCI with CI Poly.
Salary range: $86,615 - $117,185. Set based on experience, geographic location and contractual requirements.
Work Schedule40 hours per week.
Travel required:
10-25%. Telecommuting options:
Onsite.
