The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer-Dev Sec Ops to support our Proteus Team located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

The successful candidate would be supporting the Gitlab CI/CD Pipeline Infrastructure and development tools and services deployed either alongside or within the base images on Kubernetes name spaces used in support of the pipelines in the unclassified environment.

• Assists with development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.
• Supports automation, development, monitoring, improvement and troubleshooting across software development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
• Contributes to analysis, plans, and execution of mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering Dev Sec Ops  environment.

• 2+ years of development experience using Python
• 2+ years of experience with Git Lab, Azure Dev Ops and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
• 2+ years of experience with containerization and Kubernetes (e.g. Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service)

• Experience working with Helm

• Experience with Terraform

• Familiarity with other languages including Java

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

• Knowledge of cloud architecture, including the different types of clouds (public, private, and hybrid), the different cloud platforms and the various components involved (computing, storing and networking)

• Knowledge of understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and security (focus on security best practices and technologies)

• Knowledge of cultural philosophies, practices and tools required for continuous integration and continuous delivery to deliver applications and services with increased velocity and in line with security requirements

• Knowledge of host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components

• Knowledge of software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages, auto-coded languages and assembly languages

• Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools, capability and usage. Examples include compilers, linkers, debuggers, data analysis tools, graphical user interface builders, post processing tools, requirements management tools, and web authoring tools

• Ability to design and develop automation of software tests, execute automated tests, track results, manage test data, and utilize results to improve software quality

• Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
