The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2
BMC) program is a crucial part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, track battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2
BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by linking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2
BMC plays a vital role in all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system’s current and future capabilities. The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth implementation, configuration, and maintenance of CDS. They might also need to travel to remote locations to perform CDS installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting in accordance with Program configuration management processes.
