K is seeking a Database Administrator SME to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. Active TS/SCI clearance required. The Database Administrator (DBA) SME is accountable for database support and services for the Wideband C-SSE in Colorado Springs, CO by providing expert knowledge required to ensure database integrity and database replications while verifying database operations and maintenance is consistent across different systems.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provides expert knowledge ensuring database integrity and replications and leads troubleshooting efforts for database problems/system errors .
* Performs database management for multiple systems with software specific applications.
* Designs, develops and implements proposed database applications to accommodate a variety of user needs.
* Analyzes database requirements of the user department, applications programming and operations.
* Actively monitors the relationship between users and applications.
* Maintains data files and documents procedures involved in performing Database User Management for all database actions.
* Manages the creation, access, and removal of database user identifications I Ds).
* Writes, modifies, and executes shell management scripts and Standard Query Language (SQL) scripts to perform routine and special system procedures.
* Utilizes system resources efficiently, minimizing the impact on other system operations during database maintenance activities
* Submits recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and require data security and data backup/recovery specifications.
* Performs software and database configuration management.
* Coordinates and provides guidance to database management team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience :
* BA/BS degree and 8+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
* Relevant database administration certifications (SQL, Oracle, Microsoft, etc.) and Security + DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program.
* Meet personnel security and training requirements for duties as required by DAFMAN 17- 1303, DAF Cyberspace Workforce Management Program. Citizenship and Clearance :
* US Citizen
* Active Top Secret security clearance. Technical Knowledge:
* Root cause analysis and corrective action on database issues.
* Design, development and sustainment of SQL Queries including stored procedures and PL/SQL code
* Develop and sustain documentation including ER Diagrams, Physical/Logical database layouts, maintenance and user guides, sizing reports, and Configuration Management documentation and other specifications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience with using specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems.
* Expertise with database utilities for databases including, but not limited to ORACLE and SQL Server.
* Exhibits exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness for problem solving and customer service; excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Understanding of cybersecurity and database administration.
* Experience working with satellite communications systems highly desired. SCHEDULED WEEKLY
