System Administrator (Night Shift 10pm-6am) (Active Secret Clearance Required with Ability to obtain TS/SCI)

Five Rivers Analytics, an Akima company, is seeking a System Administrator to work in Colorado Springs, CO. The role requires an active Secret clearance to start and the ability to achieve a TS/SCI clearance. The position is a full‑time night shift (10 pm‑6 am) director of systems administration duties.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain computer networks, including VPNs, routers, switches, physical hardware, firewalls, and other network equipment.
  • Coordinate operations with the STORMS Team and customers to ensure successful configuration and verification of connectivity.
  • Deploy and administer VMware solutions (VMware ESX, VCP preferred), install OS, service packs, patches, and provide support and documentation.
  • Manage Windows Server and Active Directory, implement high‑availability server/network/storage infrastructure, and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Perform client/server architecture design, analysis, and implementation, including relational database familiarity.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot application activity, perform integration testing for new Endpoint Security Software, and enforce policies and standards.
  • Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and related network access control features.
  • Develop procedures, train personnel, and perform complex configuration changes for OSR and other systems.
  • Handle account management, system, database administration, troubleshooting, fault repair, and outage documentation.
  • Interface with network administrators and service desk teams to track job tickets.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment with government customers and contractors.
Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. degree and 5 years of experience, or high school diploma/GED with 6–10 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Active Secret clearance to begin, with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • DoDM 8140.03 Intermediate Level certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience in trunk/circuit testing and monitoring, interpreting and acting on message traffic.
  • Understanding of modern telecommunications network architecture and circuits.
  • Capability to autonomously perform known tasks and address unknown conditions.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Administrator experience.
  • Windows Server and Active Directory expertise.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Team‑oriented collaboration with government customers and contractors.
Desired Qualifications
  • Windows Server 2016/2019 and Active Directory certification.
  • ESS (HBSS) training and certification.
  • Networking and firewall experience/certification.
  • Solar Winds and Net App experience.
  • Experience with the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
  • Coordination of telecommunications projects (installations, configuration changes, upgrades).
  • Knowledge of DISA policy and directives (e.g., DISA Circular 310‑70‑1).
  • Direct service‑desk experience and responsibilities.
  • Implementation of standards for system operations to ensure hardware/software compatibility.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving software, OS and networking problems.
  • Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and recoveries.
  • Systems administration on VMware, Operational Switch Replacement, WANIFs, Net App, EMS, Solar Winds, Log Rhythm, encryption devices.
