Data Scientist

Altamira Technologies Corp. is hiring a Data Scientist for an onsite role based at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado
. In this position, you will design and deliver data pipelines and guide machine learning project planning and execution using cloud-native platforms and advanced ML approaches.

• Design, implement, and maintain a data pipeline
  .
• Interpret and analyze complex data sets using exploratory mathematical and statistical techniques grounded in the scientific method.
• Plan, execute, and manage ML projects with cloud-native platforms and advanced ML solutions.
• Apply a range of methodologies including data mining
  , natural language programming
  , and machine learning
  .
• Coordinate research and analytics across unstructured and structured data, using programming to clean, massage, and organize it.
• Run experiments against data points, then use experimental results to generate information and previously undiscovered solutions to command data challenges.
• Work with Data Engineers to build data environments that support data identified by other data professionals.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive modeling and use techniques across NLP
  , Robotic Process Automation (RPA), text mining and processing, clustering, forecasting, and other advanced statistical methods.
• Design and automate processes to manipulate and analyze data, including managing and integrating data across dissimilar datasets.
• Use Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing, and build statistical models and data visualizations using Tableau
  , Microsoft Power BI
  , and R Shiny
  .
• Research, design, and implement algorithms to solve complex problems, programming in R,
  Python (Num Py, Sci Py, Pandas), or similar analytical languages.
• Perform data engineering, processing, and modeling using cloud-based data science and ML platforms such as Databricks
  , IBM Cloud Pak
  , Cloudera
  , and Snowflake
  .
• Communicate complex concepts and hypotheses to non-technical audiences through digital storytelling
  .

• 3+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Skills spanning both data analyst and data engineer responsibilities.
• Advanced background in math and statistics
  , plus programming and domain knowledge, along with the ability to analyze data, build applied mathematical models, and present results in a useful format.
• Ability to understand and manipulate structured and unstructured large datasets.
• Proficiency in distributed SQL
  , relational and non-relational queries, general programming languages (including Python and R), and machine learning techniques.
• Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java
  , C++,

  , or R.
• Proficiency in Agile Development and Git operations

• TS/SCI clearance required
